Accelerate Reading Achievement with Just Right Reader Decodables

A key element of a high-quality, explicit phonics program is ensuring that students have repeated opportunities to apply their developing phonics skills in connected texts. Decodable readers allow children to read successfully and independently from the beginning of their phonics instruction. This training focuses on the effective use of decodable readers in alignment with core curricula to enhance decoding abilities, fluency, and overall reading proficiency. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the Science of Reading, the role of decodables, and strategies to accelerate early reading skills. This training will enable a strong implementation of Just Right Reader Decodables, ensuring all students can achieve reading success.

Upon completion, participants will:

• Exhibit an understanding of the Science of Reading research behind decodable books and their importance to literacy instruction.
• Describe how to effectively use decodables in your classroom and utilize them to extend the phonics instruction into your students' homes.
• Accelerate reading achievement by collaborating with family take-home decodable readers
